Emma-Watson-talks-about-The-Fashion-IndustryHaving caught the world’s attention as the bright-eyed, bushy-haired Hermione Granger, Emma Watson has remained the darling of British celebrity since the conclusion of the Harry Potter film franchise. She has been noted for her intelligence and compassion and progressive attitude towards sensitive global issues. She has made eloquent speeches about human rights and equality that prove that she is the kind of educated woman that is prepared to stand up as a role model for girls all over the world.

“Ultimately if you truly pour your heart into what you believe in – even if it makes you vulnerable – amazing things can and will happen.” – Nothing happens without effort. Making a difference, creating something beautiful, takes time and dedication. And while it might sometimes feel like you’re draining your every resource for a dream that may or may not come true, eventually something wonderful will come of it and it’ll make all of it worthwhile.

“Beauty is like the marks life leaves on us, all the kicks and the caresses the memories leave us. Beauty is letting yourself live.” – In a world where shallow judgements are made about all people and body image is a particular pressure inflicted on women, it can be stressful to attempt to live up to other people’s standards of beauty. But if instead you set your own standards by letting your image reflect the life that is uniquely yours, all that pressure will evaporate and your sense of personal freedom blossoms. You’ll be happier and that will shine throughout, no matter what your look.

“What gets scary is when your self-worth is tied up in what strangers think of you.” – People can be awful and judgemental. They pick on the silliest, most insignificant things. If people were really judged based on the goodness of their character, the world would be a very different place. People value a lot of the wrong things, so don’t worry about their opinion. Worry about yours. As long as you are doing something that you support, that you care about, that you believe in, then that’s all matters. What anyone else says or thinks is irrelevant.

“There’s nothing wrong with being afraid. It’s not the absence of fear, it’s overcoming it. Sometimes you’ve got to blast through and have faith.” – Fear shows you what you care about. It shows you that you really do want to succeed. Use it to drive you, not hold you back, and your achievements will be mean so much more to you.

“Don’t expect change to happen overnight, even if it’s not always visible it’s making more impact than you think.” – If you’re working towards furthering a good cause, even if your input is only small, or doesn’t feel especially big, remember that every little effort really does help. Even if you can’t see the change you’re making, one day you’ll be able to look back and see how far things have come. One day, it’ll accumulate, and your difference will be made so wonderfully clear.
